FAQ

Common questions about how Wins League leagues work.

How many players are in a league?

Each league has 9 or 10 players.

How does the draft work?

Each player drafts 3 NFL teams across a 3-round long-format draft. There is no pick timer or requirement for users to draft at the same time. It is the responsibility of the league members to inform the next player that it is their turn to make a selection. Upon completion of the draft, each player ends up with 3 teams that they'll hold through the season.

Why isn’t the draft order a standard "snake" draft?

The draft order here is custom and non-serpentine. The order does NOT reverse each round the way a standard snake draft does. Instead, the order is a fixed sequence that's set in advance and differs depending on whether the league has 9 or 10 players. These fixed draft sequences were carefully designed to create parity throughout each league and give each player a realistic chance of winning, regardless of which draft slot they start from. This trips people up if you're expecting a snake draft, so it's worth calling out explicitly: check the draft order table in the draft room rather than assuming who picks next based on round-reversal.

When can I see the draft order?

Not until the draft actually starts. The commissioner can randomize (or manually set) the order as many times as they want beforehand, but the resulting positions are hidden from everyone — including the commissioner — the whole time. That's deliberate: it means the order can't be manipulated, since nobody sees results at all until the commissioner starts the draft, at which point everyone finds out their position at the same moment.

How is the league scored?

The league is scored by tallying wins. Whoever's 3 drafted teams combine for the most regular-season wins by the end of the season wins the league. There's no playoff wins and no points system, just the sum of regular-season win totals across your three teams.

What happens if an NFL game ends in a tie?

A tie counts as 0 wins for both teams. It's not split as half a win each. A tie simply doesn't add anything to either team's win total.

Can two players in the same league draft the same team?

No. Each of the 32 NFL teams can only be drafted once per league. Once a team's picked, no one else in that league can take it.

Can you trade teams during the season?

No. There is no functionality to support trading teams during the season.

What if someone doesn't show up during the draft?

The draft room shows how long the current pick has been waiting, so the commissioner can nudge whoever's on the clock. There's no automatic skip or timer, picks just wait until they're made.
